What is Feudalism?

 Feudalism is the system in which the rulers of the main government shared power with nobles and vassals of many local governments to gain their support. Knights and vassals will serve nobles in exchange for lands, foods and money. Kings held the most power in the society but he had to gain a support from his nobles before doing something. So, most monarchs in Europe had little real power and had to do many things in favor of his nobles . Most peasants were serfs who worked on a land of nobles .or landlords in exchange for protection. They had to work really to get enough foods to survive.

In the late Middle Ages, feudalism began to disappear. There were many causes that led to the decline of feudalism such as the king's fighting for power, changes in government, catastrophe, and wars. By the 15th century, feudalism had almost completely disappear and many new major growing European cities attract peasants who had formerly work on farmlands. After feudalism ended, the Europeans were able to continue developing in sciences and technologies.
