Between 1347 and 1351, a deadly plaque called the Black Death swept through all of Europe. It was thought to have originated from Central Asia before reaching Europe by being brought along with traders and merchants who arrived in a Mediterranean port. These traders brought infected rats with them and fleas that fed on the blood of those rats passed the plaque to humans. The disease spread very quickly because the dirty life styles of the commoners in that period. The black death consists of three forms of plaque and the bubonic plaque was the most common. It killed so many people that there was not enough time to bury corpses. In the end, the black death had killed one-third of the European population. It is one of the deadliest pandemic in human history. Europe had been greatly affected by this devastating event. Manor system fell apart completely because many people were killed and almost all of the people from working class were free from a harsh live as a serf. They moved into many European growing cities. However, it took 150 years for the whole Europe to recover completely.
